Dr. Ritu Nagpal completed her post-graduation in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences at AIIMS, New Delhi, following which she underwent a two-year intensive cornea & anterior segment fellowship at the renowned LV Prasad Eye Institute at Hyderabad, Telangana. After her fellowship, Dr. Nagpal continued her work at Dr. R.P Centre, AIIMS as a Senior Research Associate wherein she was involved in various research projects. She is currently working as a Cataract, Cornea and Refractive Consultant at the Eye7 Eye Hospital, Lajpat Nagar.

Being fortunate enough to be trained and worked at 2 of the best places of Ophthalmology in India for the past 11 years, she is well-equipped in managing various corneal & ocular surface pathologies as well as in performing various types of refractive procedures. Her fellowship training was focused primarily on the management of various Anterior Segment Pathologies including Corneal Dystrophies, Keratoconus, Endothelial Disorders, Corneal Infections and Ocular Surface Pathologies. Her surgical training included immense exposure to all kinds of component Corneal surgeries (ALK, DALK, DSAEK, DMEK), Penetrating Keratoplasty, Limbal stem cell transplants, Mucous Membrane Grafts (MMG), and Keratoprosthesis implantation. Since her residency training period, she has been involved in performing cataract surgeries and in managing various types of Ocular Emergencies.

Dr. Nagpal has several indexed journal publications and book chapters to her credit. She is the co-editor of the third edition of the “Corneal Transplantation” book, which was recently released at the 126th annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology held in Chicago, USA from 30-Sep to 3-Oct-2022.

Since her fellowship, she has also been involved in participating and presenting at various sub-specialty workshops and conferences. She was also involved in teaching and training postgraduate students as well as general ophthalmologists.

She believes in the principles of delivering good quality patient care, treating all patients with equal dedication and time and practicing perfectionism in every part of her work.
