Dr. Ankur Agarwal is a senior vitreo retinal specialist. He has been practicing in Delhi in the speciality of retinal surgery since 2006. Dr. Ankur did his MBBS and then post-graduation (MS Ophthalmology) from Gajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior in 2000 and 2003 respectively. After completing M.S. (Ophthalmology), he worked at the prestigious Dr. RP Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS in the Retina surgery unit under Prof. HK Tiwari and Prof SP Garg.Dr. Ankur then did long term 2 year Fellowship of the National Board (FNB) under world renowned retina surgeon Padma Shree Prof S Natarajan at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, Mumbai.After returning to Delhi in 2006, Dr. Ankur Agarwal worked at various high volume eye care set-ups like ICARE, Noida and Venu Eye Institute, Sheikh Sarai.Dr. Ankur Agarwal has vast experience in diagnosis and treatment of retinal disorders like age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, uveitis and retinopathy of prematurity. He has performed more than 2500 retinal surgeries for varied pathologies like retinal detachment; complications of cataract surgery; proliferative diabetic retinopathy and macular disorders.His areas of interest are diabetic retinopathy; age-related macular degeneration and retinal detachment surgery. Dr. Ankur Agarwal is also a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS). He has also cleared International Council of Ophthalmology (UK) examinations.Dr. Ankur Agarwal has been invited as a speaker in various ophthalmic and retina surgery forums and has also contributed chapters in medical textbooks and articles in medical journals. He has also been actively involved in teaching and training young ophthalmologists and has been played the role of guide/ mentor in post-doctoral ophthalmology thesis.
